Don't wait!
How many of us feel that their life is so busy, they don't have time... Time to do the things that matter most...
Time to play with your children, time to make that telephone call to that friend of yours or to send a note to a dear one...
We get so busy trying to make the money we need for that vacation, or to buy everything for our children that we forget that we should take time to spend with our dear ones today.
I can't hide the fact that I fall in this trap many times...
My mom came to visit me last Christmas for the first time. Read more about it here.
During her 2 weeks stay at our house, she kept asking me to make her a calendar like the one I had made for our home, and I told her I would make her one for the next year since I wanted to collect all the birthdays from aunts and cousins.
She really didn't want to wait, but had to.
She kept asking about it every time I would call her, and I would tell her:"Don't worry, I will make it!".
Well, in the last week of July she ended up in critical conditions in a hospital there in England and I was faced with my worst fear: what if it is too late?
I had procrastinated all the steps needed to make that calendar she wanted so much, and I might never be able to give it to her...
That thought was killing me, so I started working on that calendar at once, even if I didn't know if I would have finished it in time to give it to her.
To speed up the process, I used a template, and started dragging and dropping family pictures.
I wrote my cousins to ask for pictures and birth dates to insert in the calendar for my mom to remember all of them. I called my aunts for the info I couldn't retrieve through the emails...
Thankfully my mom started getting better, but I kept asking for the missing birth dates to everybody.
Finally my mom was at home with my sister, and I just published her calendar, as soon as I got the last missing birth date.

Don't wait to have time to do those things that tell your loved ones that you love them and you care about them! Don't wait to write your family history! Don't wait to preserve your precious photos!

Project EXTREME MAKEOVER
My child's birthday party was so great! He was so happy to have so many friends come and play with him, and naturally loved the gifts too;)
I wanted to thank all that came with a special card, but I was pretty exhausted, so I didn't feel like creating one from scratch. I decided to go with a template and found this very cute one.
You might think: it's for a girl!
In just a few minutes my thank you card was ready!
Isn't it perfect?

NO PROBLEM!
I gave it an EXTREME MAKEOVER by swapping the background and all the other papers with boy appropriate ones, changing the flower embellishments with dinosaur ones, turning the color of the text blue, and swapping the pictures with my boys' birthday party pictures.In just a few minutes my thank you card was ready!

Sending special wishes
It's your friend's birthday, or you anniversary or a family member is graduating...
So many holidays around the corner...
What do you do? If anything, you send a card.
Have you seen how much a decent card cost today? Unless you choose a ugly cheapo one, you will end up spending at least $2 for a nice one.
If you like to send card to everybody, $2 here, $2 there, it really adds up, and you know that probably at least 50% of the people will end up trowing that card in the trash, unless it is a very special one.

I did it!!!
Today is a great day!
I finally was able to complete my husband's 4 generations cheat sheet fold out!
I had started it months ago, but couldn't publish it because I was missing the birth places of 2 of his great grandparents.
I couldn't find the info anywhere on the internet and all the family members I asked knew even less than what I had already been able to find...
Finally I got to meet a side of the family I hadn't met before, my husband's 2nd cousins.
Sadly it was because their mom's journey on earth had come to an end, so we were at her funeral, but I am so glad I got to know them because they are such nice people and I could ask about their grandparent's info.
They couldn't answer me at once, but after a week or so I had the info on their granddad's birthplace(thanks Sue^_^).
I still needed to find their grandmother's birthplace info, and I remembered that once I did see that name on family search even if not connected with her husband. Last night I went to look again and there it was, even if the husband wasn't listed, the parents matched, and the birthday was very close so I came to the conclusion that that was indeed my husband's grandmother and I could enter the birthplace in the genealogy cheat sheet.
Now my work is complete, and I can publish it!!!My husband is going to be so happy!!!!
The nice thing is that now all of his sibling have their four generations cheat sheet ready, I will just have to swap my husband's picture with each one of theirs, and change their data!Gotta Love our online software!^_^
